Vehicle page update #8

One week before we announce the release date and show Transport Fever game-play for the first time, we unveil another ten vehicles.

This time, we added two locomotives, two trucks and six buses. Highlights include:

  • The 4-8-8-4 Big Boy, a real monster of a locomotive which carried the latest in steam technology.
  • The GE P42 DC, a recent diesel locomotive with a single, monocoque carbody design.
  • The Twin Coach 44-S, a typical American Twin Coach bus with a unique design.
  • The Daimler top-seater bus, an early top-seater bus which was in use in Berlin, Germany.
  • The Postbus ET 13, a commonly used motor-driven bus built in Austria.

Please find all additions on the >vehicle page<.

We hope that you like the newest additions and look forward to next Wednesday, October 12, when we announce the release date and present a game-play video.

  1. Ich bin sehr gespannt, vorallem auf die Kampagnen, den besseren Gleisbau und hoffentlich die Performance.
Es wรคre super, wenn Untergrundbahnhรถfe modbar/vorhanden wรคren ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. The displayed multiple units, like the TFV train, exist of a number of different segments of vehicles, but they are each displayed on separate unconnected stretches of railroad. Therefore I think these segments count as individual vehicles, not as โ€˜oneโ€™ vehicle (contrary to some trams, that exist of 2 segments, but are displayed on one continuous stretch of road, so they count as one vehicle).

If that is correct, I assume that we have now seen all the vehicles that will be in the vanilla game. We were promised โ€˜over 120 vehiclesโ€™, and by this method I now count 127 different vehicles. (If the different segments of multiple units do not count as separate vehicles, but as one vehicle alltogether, Iโ€™m counting 118 vehicles, and there are still some to come. But I donโ€™t think so).

But: one of the earliest questions about modding in the FAQ section was about the ability to carry Train Fever mods over to Transport Fever, and the reply from Urban Games was: โ€œThe goal is to ensure that most mods from Train Fever can be converted by the mod authors with limited effort.โ€

If Urban Games succeeded in this goal, and the original mod authors are still around and willing to invest some time to adapt their mods to Transport Fever (or other modders are willing/allowed to do that), Transport Fever may soon be โ€˜floodedโ€™ with hundreds of very good mods carried over from Train Fever.

On the community fanpage there are currently a little over 3000 mod files for Train Fever, of which 890 are all kinds of vehicles. If only half of them will make it to Transport Fever, we should be expecting a lot of good extra vehicles soon. And of course modders will probably add more ships and airplanes too.

Some time ago I read something about the beta test for Train Fever in 2014, where it said that some of the beta testers back then already started developing mods while that beta test was still running. If the current beta testers for Transport Fever are just as enthousiastic, who knows what weโ€™ll see when the game releases ๏Š

Weโ€™ll have to wait and see if the campaigns need to be played with the vanilla vehicles, or if they can also be played with mods. And maybe we wonโ€™t be able to get steam achievements with some (or any) mods active, but in Train Fever i liked playing with a lot of mods a lot more, than trying to get some steam achievements, and I think I will be feeling the same about Transport Fever.

One more week of waiting for the release date. The suspense is killing me.

  3. The game was announced on april 11. Earlier this week I realized that all the way back since april 20, we have been getting weekly updates from Tom every consecutive wednesday without interruption. This means that at least Tom, and probably the entire team at Urban Games, have skipped their summer vacation this year alltogether.

The โ€˜behind the scenesโ€™ stories that were posted on the Train Fever website, gave us an insight on the busy work and the tension that came before, but also after the release of Train Fever. Presumably that will be the same for Transport Fever. That means that after the upcoming release, the entire team at Urban Games will probably be around for the first weeks, maybe even longer, to monitor how the game runs for all of us, so they can intervene quickly should any issues arise (and with a new game they usually do). Which means they maybe will have to skip this yearโ€™s winter vacation as well, and canโ€™t go skiing in the beautiful Swiss alps.

Wether thatโ€™s true or not, they deserve an applause for their dedication and determination.

Hello. It is the Republic of Korea of the user who is watching your Transport Fever. Including Mr. Tom rented a seat today, I will try to contact some of the matters in your development team.

    1. At this time of Transport Fever, as well as the ground, have been added content to use the shipping, aviation. Kelp, I would like to ask whether there is a willingness to allow logistics transport using aircraft (passenger transport X). In addition to this additional types of ships, aircraft? Please also taught to be that to consider.

    2. It is one of the things that the Republic of Korea users are interested in this game, “this game is officially supported by Korean”. As if the Korean in the previous Train Fever is supported, I think even in this work is Korean is officially supported?

  6. I’m so excited to this game, since I’m already a huge fan of Train Fever. I have a question that I would like to ask:

Have the developers considered some kind of underground transport? Something bigger than a tram but less than a Intercity train. I think subways would be a great addition to buses and tram lines through the city. Having possibility to add station underground (small stations compared to the main ones, something like 80m) that dinamically adapts to the tracks, and then you place it’s access point like an bus stop. Other thing is I would love to see more road types, specially a bigger avenue with the sidewalk in the center, having the hability to put tram tracks in the middle of avenues instead of the corners; hability to make exclusive bus lanes that can be independent of the road itself (Bus Rapid Transit or BRT, commonly used through the world, it’s like a tram but it’s a bus, have it’s own lanes and stops are between them, stops allow stopping services and express services to pass direct, played a great roll in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games used in conjunction with the subway system).

Of course all of these changes are up to you, but I’m already in love with this game, so keep the good work guys!

  7. I was hoping for the Hindenburg but was informed that the Hindenburg would not be allowed in Germany because of the swastikas which are prohibited in games. I don’t know if this is true but if so, how about the R101? The Hindenburg was not the first in unique design or disastrous demise If you’re not familiar with the R101 watch this:

  8. The game looks super!! Can wait to buy it in the steam store!!!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I it just me are we missing most of the standard Train Fever Vehicles?

Some more variation in ships / cargo plains would be appreciated! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Most of the vehicles from Train Fever are already in, but as you may have noticed, more and more vehicles are being added subsequently as time passes (filling the spaces between the other vehicles).

Variation in ships or added cargo planes โ€“ since they said that the number of airplanes and ships in the vanilla version is final, you can either wait for updates which may feature some, or wait for some official DLC, or for mods to appear.

Concerning the Planes: Maybe the planes (or some at least) can be refitted to carry goods, or updates may feature some. Either that, or some DLC will be published which may feature some. Who knows?

    • Usually the updates show up in the evening, usually somewhere between ยฑ 19:00 – 22:00, Swiss time. 19:00 is still around 5 hours from now.

The release date on Amazon is on the German site of, But it has been there for more than a week now. On Saturn, another German online seller, it says 15 november, and other sites show even different dates. It’s all still a guess or estimate, until the real releasedate is revealed.

Transport Fever.
