Official wiki and mod specification released

Today the official Transport Fever Wiki and mod specification were released.

The >Wiki< gives background information about Transport Fever’s construction features, management options, game world and campaign. Also, there is a beginner’s guide with tips and tricks. Because the Wiki can be extended by the community we expect that it becomes a comprehensive source of information in future.

The Urban Games team is impressed by the amount and quality of mods already released in the >Steam Workshop<. To further motivate and support development of mods, we have published >a modding specification< as part of the official Wiki. As an example mod, we are excited to provide >a curved train station<.

In addition, we have released a tool to facilitate modding. With the >Model Viewer<, modders can preview their models and test features like animations, dynamic aging, coloring, logos, passenger load and more. There is also a feature to automatically create screenshots and GUI icons of vehicles.

This said, we wanted to let you know that development on Transport Fever continues and there will be additional patches. Based on the huge amount of feedback we get, we try to improve Transport Fever also in the future.

We say thanks for your interest and continue working hard so that we can release a next patch soon!

  2. It would be helpful if the value of each type of good were displayed either in the game or in this wiki. Sid Meier’s Railroads had a graph which told the player the value of each type of good which would change over time whilst playing the game. I have not seen anywhere within the game which would let the player know which goods are the most valuable to transport.

This would be very helpful and take the guess-work out of choosing goods to transport which would generate the most income.

Unless it already happens, it would be worth changing the calculations of the game so that the value of goods reflected supply and demand to make the game less about volume and more about margin, and enable the player to know the value as the game progresses, If this was in both Transport Tycoon and Railroads! I believe such a concept could be added to this game.

    • I don’t think that different cargo has different value, also the value doesn’t decrease while in transport as it was in the other mentioned titles. Here the value per item transferred per kilometer depends on maximum theoretical top speed of the vehicle used.

  3. The model viewer is great tool, makes it so much easier to test how mods look ingame, thanks!

If you are gonna update it some time, I’d wish to see same kind of option for cargo like there is for passengers and loading animations.

  4. I really hope that in the next patch you fix a few usability problems of the great game.
1)When assigning a vehicle to a line, there should be a filter to show only the visible lines on the list. I might have a few dozen lines
2)Electrification and updating the track should be easier and faster. It is much better than in the TrainFever, but it should still be possible to do it with a few clicks. Like a button that says”Pay 2 million extra to electrify and update ALL tracks”
3)There should be an easy and a fast way to update certain vehicle classes with a few clicks. I might have a few dozen lines; it takes ages to set the autoreplacement on every time a new model is released. And I always want to upgrade all of the Benzes to Opels on all lines. I just want to declare Benz obsolote and be done with it.
    3)trucks should overtake slower cars

  5. I have a mac and the game worked well up until the update a few days ago. Any game I start or load freezes and the screen turns a dark color.

How and when will this be fixed?

  6. Hallo zusammen,
