Simon

*To clarify, I mean new varieties of rail [expanding on the default of regular, high-speed, electrified] or road – things like low-speed rail or highway. I don’t mean entire new categories of connection, like pedestrian-only paths.

And will we be able to have trams with doors on botch sides so you can have them stop at both sides of a platform?

I would like to have footpaths (pedestrian only), streetcar only , tram rails in the median of a street, single track streetcar segments and different types of road surfaces with different rolling resistance (thus limiting or improving acceleration and possible speed distinct from the posted speed limit)?

I would also like an option to build railroads with a load limit (cheaper to build, but limiting the locomotives and cars you can run there). Ideally, I would also want to have different minimum curve radius for different locomotives and cars.

Another thing I have missed is the ability to buy land without terraforming or building on it in order to plan for future expansion. A sufficiently flexible modding system should take care of all these wishes.

But if I remember right, Cities: Skylines has exactly the same problem with placing terra forming due to placing big objects. Not as bad as in Train Fever, but still visible.

I belive that they saw CitySkyline way of construction. Seemles. Friendly user interface and friendly construction tools were most problematic part of previos game. It looks like they learn.

It would be nice the construction blend into terrain, right.

By the way… I really wish for more smooth terrain height borders when placing buildings / rails. As we can see in the video, changes in height still result in very ugly borders that we manually have to remove with the smudge tool. At least in Train Fever this can become a huge pain in the arse, as most of the time you’ll first have to remove the building, then smoothen the ground, then place the building again and hope for the best.

I like it.
